Dear Community Member:
I am writing to invite you to join me and many other
Redondo Beach business and community members at our new
trademark community event, the 4th of July Friends of
the Fireworks Seaside Lagoon Independence Day
Celebration.
This will be the fifth year our community has come
together in a new way to celebrate our Nation's birth in
a fun, safe and festive environment. This year's July
4th celebration will be even better with several new
features for all of us to enjoy including a live
broadcast of the fireworks show music on CBS radio, JACK
FM 93.1 our new partner for this event.
Swimming in
the lagoon with lifeguards, paddleboard demos and races
organized by BeachSports.org, Bubble Roller "walking on
water: attraction and an amazing U.S. Coast Guard
helicopter hover and hoist in the harbor (unless called
on real emergency) will complement all the usual fun
features including the 5 th Annual Kids Freedom Parade
and front row viewing of our spectacular fireworks show
synchronized to patriotic music.
In addition to creating a new tradition for our
community, the Friends of the Fireworks Seaside Lagoon
Independence Day Celebration also generates proceeds
that help relieve the City of a significant portion of
the cost of the annual fireworks show.
Like the initial four years, the success of the 2012
Friends of the Fireworks will depend upon local business
and community sponsorships. I hope you will become a
sponsor and participate in the many great benefits your
business, family and our community will enjoy.
Thank you. I hope to see you in the Seaside Lagoon for
the 4th Annual Friends of the Fireworks Community
Celebration on July 4, 2012.
Warm regards,
Mike Gin

Dear Businesses and Families of Redondo Beach:
I hope you will join us this year in what has quickly
become a favorite community tradition: the 6th Annual
Friends of the Fireworks Independence Day Celebration at
the Seaside Lagoon.
The day is loaded with fun for the entire family
including swimming for the kids with lifeguards in the
warm water lagoon, paddleboard races, arts and crafts,
great local bands and dancing and all the other fun
activities you see on the website.
The Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau
is a Friends of the Fireworks sponsor and we urge your
business or family to also become a sponsor too. As a
sponsor you will truly enjoy the following very special
benefits:
Close up viewing of the fireworks show launched
only yards away
Reserved picnic tables or seats on the sand
Reserved parking and shuttle
The fireworks show is a spectacular presentation of
light and sound as everything is synced to patriotic
music. It is truly an inspiring display. There are also
several local restaurants on site with traditional
holiday favorites and full beverage service, live, local
entertainment and many fun and active things for the
kids. It is a family event you don’t want to miss.
In addition to enjoying a great celebration, your
sponsorship also serves an important purpose as Friends
of the Fireworks proceeds help cover the cost of the
fireworks show enjoyed throughout our community.
We hope you become a sponsor today and that we celebrate
together at the Friends of the Fireworks this year and
for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Marna Smeltzer

Dear Pete:
Congratulations on your receiving the
authorization from the Redondo Beach City Council to
proceed with your ambitious plans to continue and
enhance the 4th of July Fireworks display in Redondo
Beach. Redondo Beach has a long tradition of putting on
a fireworks display that is very popular with our
citizens and visitors and widely watched throughout the
waterfront and beach.
The King Harbor Association is appreciative and
excited that you have taken on the responsibility to not
only continue the tradition of the fireworks, but to
enhance the holiday with a community get together in the
Seaside Lagoon, possibly including games, BBQ, block
party and a laser show. Your plans sound exciting. I
have personally seen the benefits of your organization
skills in Manhattan Beach wherein a holiday fireworks
show in December has grown to be a very anticipated
community event that the citizens of Manhattan Beach
mark on their calendars every year.
The King Harbor Association will once again support
the Redondo Beach fireworks with a substantial monetary
donation. Good luck to you and your endeavors.
Sincerely,
JoAnn Turk, President
King Harbor Association
